About

Welcome!

Welcome to my new food blog, eatyeats.com!

My main goal in setting up this blog was to carry on the tradition of documenting what I cook. I’ve been given a lot of encouragement to progress from posting photos/videos to family and friends (via email or social ) to a fully fledged cooking and food blog.  Thanks for all the support!

What will you find on this blog?

I mostly plan to document what I cook but I’m sure there’ll be broader posts about general kitchen and food related topics. For most cooking posts I’ll try to publish photos, videos, my version of a recipe (if I tweaked it) and links to original recipes.

Most of the posts on this blog can likely be placed into one or more of the following categories:

  • Barefoot Contessa – I’m a Barefoot Contessa fanatic and I’ve always loved trying out an Ina recipe and documenting the result. More often than not if there’s some type of dish I’d like to prepare I’ll usually try to hunt down an Ina Garten recipe and give that one a go.  I figure that if I’m going to put in the effort to cook something I want to follow a highly rated, “foolproof” 😉 recipe. Plus I think Ina is awesome!
  • Tweaked recipes – In most cases I follow recipes to the letter. But once I’ve tried it I sometimes tweak it. If I’m proud of the finished product or eat it regularly I’ll most likely post it here.
  • Inspiration from culinary experiences – I like to cry cooking foods from cuisines that I enjoy eating. For example, a favorite indian recipe or a semifreddo at a specific restaurant that I devoured.
  • Vegetarian food – I am not a vegetarian but my husband is. Over the years I’ve developed or tweaked a small repertoire of vegetarian recipes that have both our seals of approval.
